Eight years after the end of Desperate Housewives, Marc Cherry returns with a new series full of female protagonists. At the time of confinement, it may put balm in the heart of M6 viewers. Three women, three eras, Why Women Kill tells the fate of those who come to commit the irreparable. In the 60s, we find Beth Ann Stanton (Ginnifer Goodwin – Once Upon a Time), who seems confined to her role as a housewife. Her husband, Robert Stanton (Sam Jaeger – American Sniper, Parenthood), is unfaithful to her, which could well have serious consequences. In the 80s, Simone Grove (Lucy Liu – Elementary) is a socialite, particularly talented in terms of organizing parties. The problem? Her husband, Karl Grove (Jack Davenport – Pirates of the Caribbean) uses her to hide his homosexuality. These days, Taylor Harding (Kirby Howell-Baptiste, The Good Place) and Eli Cohen (Reid Scott) are in an open relationship, which is struggling. Their union is then disrupted the day Taylor hosts his mistress at their home.
A series on the model of her elder
All three faced with betrayal, come to think of killing, but also to act. The three stories are different, in that they are part of the era in which they are set, but come together on the common point of murder. While the role of women has changed over the years, the feeling of humiliation remains the same. The trailer alone brings together all the elements of this kind of series. We find the trademark of Marc Cherry, with his share of heroines and black humor, which we appreciated so much in the time of Desperate Housewives. Already renewed for a second season across the Atlantic, Why Women Kill promises some nice surprises. In France, the series will finally be broadcast on M6, in the first part of the evening, Thursday, March 26.
