In just a few days, on June 3rd exactly, ANGERME will perform on the stage of La Cigale in Paris. A great first for the idol group that had never crossed our borders before!
Less than a month after the release of their last EP, ANGERME (formerly known as S/mileage) does us the honor of coming to ignite our French boards for a single date. An unmissable appointment for all fans but also the opportunity to (re)discover this group that has continued to evolve.
ANGERME?
For all fans of J-Musique like me, ANGERME or even S/mileage is known to all, but outside this "circle of insiders", it must be admitted that it (and even J-Music in general) remains mostly unknown in France… So let me tell you a little bit about that.
ANGERME is an idol group currently composed of 10 members, its number having perpetually changed over the years between the departures and the arrivals of the singers. Today, there is only one idol left who was present when the group was created 9 years ago! As for its name, it comes from a mixture of two French words "Ange" and "Larme" and is pronounced cutely "Anjurumu" in the Japanese way.
If you are new to J-Music, the term "idol" will not speak to you either and yet it is a very important facet in the Japanese scene, musical, but not only. To put it simply, an idol is a person, often very young and embodying joy and innocence, who is highly publicized and under a limited-time contract, he can be a singer, model, actress, often even several of these things at once.
