After having long lived away from humans in order to flee persecution, they are now recognized as full members of society. Tetsuo Takahashi is a high school biology teacher who has a strong curiosity for the Ajin, unfortunately he could not continue his research started when he was a student. One day, he discovers that students in his high school are Ajins and that just like normal young people, they face adolescent problems.

The story of Freaky Girls is based on parahumans, vampires, succubi and dullahans and especially high school girls! Indeed, in this first volume, we discover different characters evolving in a high school, and the story follows them in their everyday lives. It's not always easy to integrate when you don't have your head on your shoulders!

Freak Girls: A very pleasant manga!

In itself, the scenario is nothing extraordinary, but remains very pleasant to read because the characters are not "merely" human. It gives another dimension to the work and it's very pleasant to read! In Freaky Girls, the author dwells on difference and integration. For this, he stages the characters in their everyday lives, with a lot of humor! A vampire who uses a particular fridge to store her blood bags and who ends up putting her feet in it when she is too hot, it is not common! But he also shows through this story the difficulties that some people can encounter because of their difference, especially during adolescence since our characters are high school girls.

Regarding the characters, we discover them with this first volume and therefore we will learn more as the pages go by. For now, I quite like the different characters present (with a preference for the dullahans). A headless horseman, a vampire, a succubus, a snow woman, a good mix that is quite comical I must admit! However, there is one character that leaves me a little marble for now, it is the character of Tetsuo Takahashi, the biology teacher. It is not very developed at the moment which is a bit of a shame. Certainly, we follow him a lot because like us, he discovers what the "demis" really are but I find it a shame that he is not very pushed. It may be highlighted in future volumes and will be more important. Especially since he does not have a second-class role since he is a "trustworthy" person, who helps our young "monsters" to grow!

The graphics are simple. The sets are not very worked, but that does not mean that the drawings are bad! Simple but effective. The characters are very easily differentiable, and Petos' pencil stroke is not bad either. Be careful, it remains good! The author focused more on the characters than on the settings, which is quite understandable. And the fact that each character has a peculiarity makes them even more attractive! A young girl walking around with her head in her hand, it's worth a look!

Freaky Girls is therefore a pleasant series to read which I can't wait to know the sequel! If you like supernatural series, with a touch of humor, then we advise you to immerse yourself in this series signed Petos!
