The latest addition to Aardman Studios will soon be hatching! As you can see, Chicken Run, a gallinaceous parody of The Great Escape , will be entitled to a sequel.

Aardman Studios' calendar is full! Indeed, according to The Hollywood Reporter, after Fermaggedon, the sequel to their feature film Shaun the sheep scheduled for October 2019, the mythical animation studios will remain on the farm to offer a sequel to Chicken Run, nearly 20 years after the original film.

Chicken Run was released in 2000. It was then the first real feature film of the British studio and it had marked its greatest success at the box office. We note that this film is still to this day the greatest commercial success in history for a stop-motion film!

Parodying John Sturges' The Great Escape, Chicken Run featured a group of laying hens trying to spin the English way by all means, at the risk of leaving a few feathers…

This future sequel will be titled Chicken Run 2 and developed by StudioCanal and Pathé. On the directing side, we will find Sam Fell (The Strange Power of Norman, Mouse City). On the script side, we will find Karey Kirkpatrick and John O'Farrell who were already at work on the first part.

While waiting to discover the sequel to the famous feature film, let's refresh our memory by (re)discovering the trailer of the first part, Chicken Run. To your feathers, ready, fly!
