A duo linked by destiny

Oh The MysteriousOh The Mysterious is a drama that is clearly part of a detective register. Nevertheless, many other topics will gravitate around this basic framework. Recurring topics, such as the past of the protagonists, the links between them and above all, the power conferred by money, often dirty. Thus the series is not content to simply address a fairly classic story, but brings essential elements to the proper functioning of the scenario. We start on a rather slow pace to be able to give time to the pawns to set up, essential aspect for the smooth running to come. And soon a certain sympathy is born for the hero Kim Jong Sam, an innocent condemned to death. And that reminds us a little of another hero in the manner of Defendant.

Thanks to this character who was unlucky from the start, we follow his evolution and the various levels he will have to cross to reach his goal. Namely: to find an ordinary life and make those who used it pay. Although this notion of struggle is not so obvious. However, it will also be necessary for the heroine, Jin Jin-Young who does not believe in the suicide of her father and seeks to unravel the truth. This duo turns out to be linked by fate, as you can discover over the episodes. They will also be accompanied by supporting roles and villains who live up to our expectations!

Police VS Corruption

If we find once again this vision of good against evil, the camps are sometimes ambiguous and lead us to reflect on this or that protagonist. But there is no need to reflect on the thirst for revenge and truth that Oh Il-Seung and Jin Jin-Young have in common, who will later become teammates. The same goes for Inspector Park so-Chil and Prosecutor Kim Min-Pyo who somewhat supervise the two young people who want to go too fast in work. The other police officers are quite classic in their role, certainly, but bring a certain dose of humor to the drama. We will also be interested in the chief of police Jang Pil-Sung who will have a hard time finding his side – mainly because of the lure of profit and what he could lose at the exchange.

Oh The MysteriousA terrain that is complicated by approaching the opposing clan, capable of many stratagems, sudden reversals of jackets, markets with dirty money, even murders to keep power.

Thus, it was on the side of the corrupt villains that our attraction was most significant. The actors brilliantly interpret uncandid people, just like the excellent Jun Gook-Hwan, a veteran of the profession who once again offers a tough boss, devoid of feelings, greedy and greedy. Kook so-Ran, also pleased us a lot, representing in a way the feminine inclination of this one with its heavy emotional wound, touching. We also praise the performances of the two NIS employees, who are interesting and credible as henchmen.

Finally, let us not forget the importance of Kang Cheol-Ki true mentor for Oh Il-Seung and whose intentions are unknown. He is also the former partner of Inspector Park so-Chil but we will not say more about it. On the whole, the actors fulfill their contract despite shortcuts however predictable when we know the register …

A well-executed plot, but…

The plot of Oh The Mysterious remains banal, but is well executed to the extent that everything – or almost – holds up. The elements that move the drama forward are mastered, the direction is good. However, the more we advance, the less we feel absorbed by the sequence of events. With each revelation, the drama runs out of steam and we would have liked fewer episodes maybe – sixteen instead of twenty for example. On the other hand, the young main couple is too focused on their revenge. Jin Jin-Young may annoy some by wanting to play too much hotheads. As for Kim Jong Sam, he lacks self-confidence and ambition, which can be tiring as the episodes go by.

Oh The Mysterious

Luckily for us, the many twists and turns are a great help to continue viewing. We didn't have high expectations for this series, and as a result, we still enjoyed following and presenting it. In short, this drama has qualities and flaws but overall, it is pleasant to discover. It is clear that lovers of injustice, corruption and action will benefit from this.
