This review does not contain any major revelations that could spoil your viewing of the first episode of Food Wars season 3. But it's up to you to see if you want to watch the episode first, before reading some details that you might have liked to discover with the anime.
The Tootsuki Festival: an explosion of flavors!

This first episode of Food Wars season 3 takes us back to the walls of the prestigious Tootsuki culinary school. And not at any time of the year! Since this beginning of the season plunges us into the festival of Tootsuki, festival that promises to make our mouths water many times. So we follow Soma in search of the perfect strategy to make a place for himself in the council of ten. However, the task will not be easy and this third season, like the two previous ones, will reserve us magnificent culinary duels that we look forward to discovering. This season should also introduce us to new flavors, such as Chinese cuisine which we had a brief glimpse of in this first episode.
On the graphic side, we find the studio J.C Staff, which as always, offers us quality graphics. The scenes are fluid, the colors are superb, the sets are well represented, as you would expect from J Studios.C Staff. In addition, the character design is also very well done, as was the case for the other two seasons. The dishes made by our apprentice cooks are also very tempting, which is a pleasure for the eyes.

Now let's move on to the characters. It is with great pleasure that we meet Yukihira Soma, always the same energetic and optimistic boy, always looking to improve his cooking. And in this third season, we have the satisfaction of finding him even more motivated than ever, ready to challenge the members of the Council of Ten to take their place. We also find the other aspiring cooks of the North Star, as well as Nakiri Erina. Note that the relationship she has with Soma and more particularly the way Soma addresses her makes me laugh a lot. In addition, we (finally) had the pleasure of discovering one by one the members of the Council of Ten. However, I find their presentation too quick and the banquet scene could have been developed a little more. This would have allowed those who do not follow the paper manga to learn more about Soma's future opponents. But we will have the opportunity to meet them as the episodes progress, the wait will be just a little longer.
Regarding the OST of Food Wars season 3, they are always very pleasant to listen to. The music allows you to dive deeper into the anime and allow you to appreciate it even more. The opening and ending are also of very good quality and highlight the anime more. Turn up the sound and enjoy!
This first episode is a real treat and we can't wait to discover the rest of the adventures of Soma and his friends as well as discover the Tootsuki festival! Food Wars season 3, to follow on Crunchyroll this fall!
