After the introduction of magic with Doctor Strange, for sure, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is moving towards a cosmic branch since Avengers: Infinity War. Already initiated from 2014 with Guardians of the Galaxy, it will only take this direction with Avengers 4, Captain Marvel and many others. However, the MCU could also take a darker, monstrous, even horrific direction…

Indeed, already these days, we learned that Tom Hardy had signed for three films in the skin of the character of Eddy Brooke aka Venom (with obviously his share of rumor on the integration of the character in the MCU alongside Spider-Man), an interesting character certainly, but not so trendy bisounours.

Today, we are getting closer to the bloodsucking branch of Marvel with a hypothetical return of Blade in the person of Wesley Snipes (who had, as a reminder, already embodied him in the trilogy of the early 2000s) who could integrate the MCU. Information to be taken with tweezers but which have nevertheless been reported by Vice in which the main interested party said:

"There's a lot of discussion going on around this right now, and I'm delighted with the enthusiasm and interest that is coming out of it once again around the world. We've created two projects that fit perfectly with this world, and when people see that, I think they'll just have the problem deciding which one they prefer.

With all the decision-makers at Marvel and on my side, we have been discussing this for two years. Everyone is enthusiastic about it, everyone gets the trick. But they have a business to run, and they have to round the corners to make it work before they really jump into it, I guess. Meanwhile, I also have a business to run and my own things to do, so…

But the next time you see something in the Blade universe, remember this: what we were able to do before was child's play compared to what we can do now."

A return of an emblematic character of the comics that is not without surprise, especially by the fact that he would be embodied by the same actor, nearly twenty years after the release of the first part of his trilogy. For a character who is part vampire, he might seem far too old to reprise this role, the actor has just entered his 56th year.

However, let's not underestimate Hollywood, let alone Marvel and the comics, a solution can always be found: the character could serve as a mentor, have already lived several centuries, have gotten rid of his vampire nature, in short, the solutions are multiple. Science, magic, the cosmic, the horrific, if this new project succeeds, Marvel will confirm once again that it has more than one trick its sleeve. Business to follow…
