On the black roads – "Alcohol is innocent, only the drunkard is guilty" Pierre falls from a balcony while intoxicated. He promises to crisscross the France for more than a thousand kilometers. Inspired by the story of Sylvain Tesson, it is tiring to see someone hiking for an hour and a half. The film is too long despite its short time, I would have thought that it would make hard-hitting encounters but they are excessively soft confrontations. Jean Dujardin tries in vain to appropriate the character but it is a wasted effort. Nevertheless, Denis Imbert deserves his prebend just for landscapes and voice-over aphorisms are stimulating.
Annie Colère – "You have the heart to laugh, I have it to cry"
Annie is reborn when she meets MLAC, an open abortion movement. Many know Simone Veil, few know the fight it was before the ratification of her famous law, that's what this film tells. When we know that this is based on a long thesis, we understand the militant and excessively didactic aspects. There is also an overabundance of explanatory information, even medical information, which leads to constant boredom. Annie Colère does not succeed in getting men interested in her subject, in being less sectarian.
The Chamber of Wonders – "Say I love you to Mommy"
A teenager has an accident. During his coma, his mother searches and she finds a notebook that contains a list of dreams, she will then realize them and come to tell him on his hospital bed, hoping that it will wake him up. A drama that begins with a munificent exploration from Japan to Scotland. An ode to mothers who will always resist alongside their offspring. The scenario is simple but it requires us to stop quibbling and refocus on the essentials. By fulfilling the child's dreams, it will fulfill itself. Alexandra Lamy easily convinces us as Mother Courage and Muriel Robin is completely truculent as a crazy grandmother. The film contains some moments of breathing like the battle of colored powder but still moments of gravity like when the doctor announces that it would be necessary to think about unplugging his son.
