Two sisters who are opposed to everything

dear sisterThe plot sets the tone quickly, offering us to follow women who are opposed to everything, but linked by blood. A relationship that will become the main subject of the drama and that will be exploited successfully, thanks to the two actresses. If it remains quite classic, we found the two actresses almost perfect in their respective roles. Not to mention that the potential loves of our two heroines, the friends and the mother bring depth to this duo. Hazuki, under her shell of a rather cold woman and Mizuki, not hesitating to rule the life of his sister in secret, represent well what is the daily life of those who live it. Although sometimes pushed much more than reason, we are quickly caught up in this particular relationship and more complex than it seems at first glance.

Indeed, if Misaki behaves a certain way, it is not that she hates her sister, but quite the opposite. This relationship, which evolves throughout the duration of the series , is well brought and approaches a certain reality. And let's not forget the mother-daughter relationship which also brings its share of twists and turns. So many surprises that will help our heroines face life and grow a little more!

A drama punctuated by its characters

dear sisterHazuki (Nao MATSUHITA), the older sister, has everything to be happy: a good job, a boyfriend, an apartment… But it doesn't seem to be. At least, that's the feeling we remember. And the drama will allow us to discover at her side the many obstacles she will cross and that will really allow her to regain control. The arrival of Misaki (Satomi ISHIHARA) brings a new wind in their respective lives and it is not to displease us. The younger sister also causes a lot of turmoil and various scandals that give a good rhythm to the drama, almost making us hate her character. We will also remember her choices made through this "unhealthy" diary that she owns and her way of manipulating others to achieve what she wants which are particularly interesting.

Finally, Misaki suffers much more than the others think, hiding her illness and wanting to make happy her sister – whom she cherishes although clumsily… On the other hand, the pseudo romance of Hazuki and Yohei did not convince us, having had no evolution and no concrete thing (where is the kiss?). Too bad, because the character of this hard-working man is touching just like his little tribe. On the other hand, Eito, the skateboarder who loves men, is looking for himself in the entire series and made a good impression on us. In particular, thanks to his unwavering devotion to his best friend Misaki. His brother Soichiro happens to be much less mature than we were introduced to at the beginning and we come out mixed by his rather "special" character.

Blood and heart bond

dear sisterDear Sister is a simple Japanese drama but one that we follow heartily, love has different forms and is not always easy to manage. Through this plot, the screenwriter and directors offer us a beautiful vision of this love sometimes close to hate, but also of great depth! Hazuki eventually opened up, forgave and loved himself. Misaki discovers hope, the desire to live, maternal love and the person who corresponds to her.

The drama suffers, however, from some defects including the timeline which is messy especially towards the end. An impression of drama closed in haste. The intervention of some secondary characters, such as Hachi's father or Soichiro's ex-wife have no interest. They appear and disappear as quickly as they came. However, the series takes a second wind and a good turn when Misaki's lies are revealed. The sisters each have their own wrongs and although the youngest chooses a roundabout way, Hazuki manages to be positive, finally finding her way.

In conclusion, the concept interested us and seduced us, thanks to its well-conducted script and especially its actresses who struggled, offering us beautiful performances.

Dear Sister is a J-Drama that attracts for its subject dealing with the relationship of two sisters. A plot that does not revolutionize the genre, but that we take pleasure in following thanks to the talents of the two actresses!
