Sense8 will finally be back for a final episode of 2 hours!

While the series was canceled less than a month ago, Netflix has finally agreed to renew Sense8 for a final episode of two hours! Indeed, thanks to the long fight of the fans, we will finally know what is happening to our sensors.

Remember, at the end of season 2, Sense8 had left us on a huge cliffangher. Despite this, Netflix decided to cancel the series a few weeks after it aired. Immediately, fans reacted and did everything to have an end, by multiplying petitions, calls to Netflix customer service, or messages via social networks.   And they got what they wanted!

And that's not all, because Lana Wachowski , one of the showrunners of the series, posted a beautiful letter of thanks to the fans, which you can read our translation below:

Dear Sense8 family,

I had wanted to write this letter for a long time. The outpouring of love and pain that appeared in me after the news of Sense8's non-renewal was so intense that I was unable to open my own mailbox. I admit that I fell into a rather serious depression.

I had never worked so hard, or put so much of myself into a project as I did with Sense8, and its cancellation left a hollow in me. I felt the disappointment of my incredible team (I would like people to understand the impossibilities they have accomplished with disconcerting regularity). I felt the grief of the actors who gave so much of themselves, who always found more every time the sun pierced the clouds. But above all I felt the distress of our fans (once again, I wish I could share with you the wonderful moments, hugs, tears, laughter, as well as conversations of humility that I was able to have with all the people connected to this series; they are really different from all the fans I have met as an artist).

My friends kept calling from just about anywhere in the world, asking me "there's nothing you can do?"

And the truth was, obviously, no. Myself, there was nothing I could do.

But just like the characters on the show who discovered they weren't alone, I, too, learned that I'm not just "me," but that I can also be "us."

The passionate letters, the petitions, the collective voices that rose like Sun's fist in the show was much more than anyone expected.

In this world, it's easy to believe that you can't make a difference; that when a government, institution or society makes a decision, there is something irrevocable about it; that love is always less important than this end.

But here's a gift from the fans that I'm going to carry in my heart forever: while it's often true that these decisions are irrevocable, that's not ALWAYS true.

Improbably and unpredictably, your love brought Sense8 back to life (I could kiss you all one by one!)

It is with pleasure that me and Netflix (believe me, they love the series as much as we do, but the numbers have always been a challenge) that we announce that there will be a special two-hour episode planned for next year.
