Beauregard: Day 3

Last day in Beauregard! Sunday is traditionally quieter, often more family-friendly. We will attend the concerts of Lou Doillon and Beirut, quietly installed in the grass to rest from the two previous days. They will each have fulfilled their role but without succeeding in surprising us.

PJ Harvey

PJ Harvey

The sun had not yet set and we could already see an English queen landing. But not just any queen: that of rock. Majestic, this was the word to define PJ Harvey and the 9 musicians accompanying him. Percussion, guitars, brass, so many instruments intended to serve a common rock work. One might have feared that so many instruments would create an impression of surplus, but the dosage was such that everyone seemed to have their role to play in this great musical ceremony. Some criticized him for a lack of interaction with the public, but PJ Harvey conveys his emotions in his music above all. They offered us a real spectacle, and we could only enjoy it by abandoning our own existence for a moment to blend into the musical universe of the great English lady.

Louise Attaque

Louise Attaque

After a concert tour throughout the France, Louise Attaque wanders from festival to festival. Thus, naturally the group stopped at Beauregard. So they presented us their new album "Anomalie", which some in the audience obviously already knew by heart. Of course, the famous " Léa", " Ton Invitation", " Les Nuits Parisiennes" and " J't'emmène au vent" brought back memories dating back more than ten years to many spectators. We can only encourage the group to continue composing within Louise Attaque rather than disperse as Gaétan Roussel had done with mixed musical success.

Jurassic 5

Jurassic 5

It was bold to invite a hip hop group to conclude the festival. The result, although obvious in retrospect, was surprising at the time: few people stayed to attend the Jurassic 5 concert. It must be said that technical problems led to a significant delay: it was necessary to wait 25 minutes more to see the 6 Californian friends on stage. One can imagine that this delay will have deterred the less reckless from staying. However, it is a real show that Jurassic 5 offered us. The four rappers pour out a stream of lyrics without interruption, while the two DJs plunge us into an almost funk universe. The interaction with the public is total while the latter has never seen the group in concert, and we can imagine that a number did not know the group before its announcement to the programming of Beauregard. It will therefore be a very good closing concert of the festival, finally more interesting than Lenny Kravitz who had disappointed many people last year.
