Hostile Zone, directed by Mikael Hafstrom is available on Netflix. Directed by Anthony Mackie and Damson Idris, the film is set in a near future where a drone pilot is deployed in a deadly militarized zone. He finds himself forced to work for an android officer.
Hostile Zone: a low-end B series
Hostile Zone "stinks" Netflix formula for miles. The feature film is a rather unpleasant B series, which accumulates clichés and scriptwriting facilities.In fact, there's just not much to get your teeth into. The story is ultra classic, drawing both in Terminator, in Chappie, or in the finale of Watchmen: The Guardians. As for the visual effects, they are absolutely hideous. Mikael Hafstrom, the director of Evasion, The Rite or Room 1408, seeks to stage a rhythmic and muscular B series. 
Unfortunately, the action sequences are relatively unreadable ; the special effects are a few years late; And the overall rendering is very ugly. Even though Zone Hostile presents itself as an unpretentious B series; The action sequences do not fly high and do not allow to share the expected entertainment.
A naïve and warmed morality
And then, Mikael Hafstrom seeks to propose a story of anticipation, which surfs on artificial intelligence, and a new way of waging war. Unfortunately, once again, Zone Hostile is a few years late. And its anticipation is totally obsolete. It is a film whose themes have been treated a million times, often, with more relevance. Finally, the moral is quite simplistic, and is summed up by a naïve: war is bad. 
With this story of a drone pilot forced to go into the field to confront reality, Mikael Hafstrom criticizes the US government with laziness. It artlessly highlights America's military excesses, its undeserved self-proclaimed omnipotence, its excesses, and a world dominated by conflict and violence. Similarly, he criticizes a war without consequences for the powerful. A conflict dominated by bureaucrats who make decisions without knowing the reality on the ground. A lazy moralization and without much contribution… In short, the classic criticisms inherent in the genre. To sum up, Hostile Zone is a B-series to avoid. Zone Hostile is a wobbly, often ugly and extremely predictable B-series.
