Dadaism, an artistic movement that arose during the First World War to protest against the established order of a civilization on the verge of explosion, drew its inspiration from classical African art, but also from Amerindian and Asian arts.
It is these links that the Musée de l'Orangerie highlights in its exhibition "Dada Africa, Sources and extra-Western influences" which will be held until February 19.
The opportunity to discover the masks of Marcel Janco, the costumes of Sophie Taeuber-Arp or the collages of Hannah Höch, so many Dadaist works that respond to non-Western sculptures within an effective scenography.
