Chucky, the evil doll, is back for a seventh time on screen in Cult Of Chuck, scheduled for release in 2017.
Entertainment Weekly has confirmed the information, Chucky, will be back in 2017. This new feature film is directed and written by Don Mancini, the author of the very first film, Child's Play.Filming will begin on January 9 in Canada but will only benefit from a VOD, DVD and Blu-Ray release, probably for Halloween in the United States, but still undated in France. Universal, to make its fans wait, has concocted a souvenir video featuring images from previous opus. Brad Dourif will once again double Chucky for the original version, while his daughter Fiona Dourif will reprise the role of Nica Pierce, which she played in The Curse of Chucky. Jennifer Tilly , Chuck and Alex Vincent's fiancée, will also be back.
As a reminder, the first Chucky, Jeu d'Enfant, was released in 1989 in the United States, and proved to be an appreciable entertainment constantly oscillating between terror and fun. The sequels were all relatively mediocre to say the least. As for this new opus it will always follow Nica, interned in an asylum for criminal lunatics for four years, convinced that it is she, and not Chucky, who murdered her entire family.Everything will start to go lollipop when his psychiatrist brings Chucky back inside the asylum, thinking that it is a simple doll with therapeutic value.
