Disney does not stop and continues live adaptations of its great animated classics. So after Maleficent, Cendrion, The Jungle Book or Tarzan, it is the turn of Aladdin to go into live action.

The project is written by John August, Tim Burton's screenwriter, and will be directed by Guy Ritchie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A surprising and unexpected choice since Guy Ritchie is best known for fun and uninhibited films. Director of Sherlock Holmes version Robert Downey Jr, Snatch or Scams , Crimes and Botany, it is difficult to see how Aladdin could suit this English filmmaker.

As a reminder, the animated adaptation of Aladdin released in 1992 was the biggest success of the year for the studio with big ears and allowed Disney to collect the sum of $ 504 million worldwide. This new adaptation will be produced by Dan Lin, the director's official producer. In July 2015 another project around the tale was talking about him, a spin-off centered on the genius soberly titled Genies, but no one knows where the project is. For the adaptation of Guy Ritchie there is for the moment no other additional information around the cast, the story or the release date.
