While the theatrical release of Whimsical Animals 2 is fast approaching. We were able to see the final trailer, where we (re)discover Nagini.
In the second installment of Fantastic Beasts, we will discover Nagini in his human form, who will be played by South Korean actress Claudia Kim. Indeed, the presence of Nagini represents for fans a real link with the Harry Potter saga. However, if for many Nagini was just Voldemort's snake and a horcrux, her interpreter confides that she is much more than that.
Indeed, she stated:
"It's really interesting to discover another side of Nagini.It has only been seen as a horcruxe so far. In this film, she is a great woman, vulnerable and who wants to live. She wants to remain human and that's a very interesting contrast. Sometimes she feels that she has trouble controlling her transformations, that she is doomed to turn into a beast at some point, so she feels the pressure, the clock is ticking."
Controversy over Nagini…
However, many controversies have arisen over who will interpret it. Indeed, many fans have argued that the actress who will play this role is of Asian origin. In fact, one of them accused JK. Rowling for having made her choice in order to fill the quotas and bring diversity to her cast, without really thinking about it. However, JK is not being attacked. Rowling with impunity. The latter was quick to reply:
"Naga are mythical snake-like creatures that come from Indonesian mythology, hence the name Nagini. They are sometimes described as flying, sometimes as half human, sometimes as half snake. Indonesia has a hundred ethnic groups including the Javanese, Chinese and Betawi. Very good day."
