Rambo is back for a 5th (and last?) Opus that will be released in autumn 2019. The first poster is plastered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
The first to arrive at the Cannes Film Festival (where the rights to the film were pre-sold) had the chance to spot a teaser poster of Rambo V, which Stallone also posted on his Instagram account.
According to the website Screen Daily, the filming of Rambo V could take place as early as this fall. It is therefore necessary to count on a release in autumn 2019 as promised by the teaser poster.
On the production side, we will find Sly Stallone himself. He will obviously reprise the role of the Vietnam veteran with the mythical green beret. At the latest news, side synopsis, we know that Rambo V will take place around the Mexican border and John Rambo will, this time, face the members of a bloodthirsty cartel.
We note that our last meeting with Rambo dates back to 2008, in the beautiful and ultra-violent John Rambo. A film that sounded like a farewell to the character. But Stallone promised us for several years a fifth Rambo entitled Last Blood. This is a true epitaph. Indeed, the first Rambo is called First Blood in VO. We find ourselves able to wonder if this 5th part would not be the last of the saga…
Finally, Millenium Films, which produces Rambo V, also has in its cards a project to reboot the franchise with a younger actor, entitled New Blood.
While waiting to find Stallone in the role of John Rambo, we will have the chance to see him in Creed II which will be released in January 2019. Come on, patience…
