Following a first film that failed to find its audience. Bruno Merle has written for others. Before finally returning thirteen years later behind the camera. And we can say that Felicità, his second film, is a great success.

It's not easy to revive when his first film flops with the public. And this, regardless of the quality of the project. These are the numbers that speak for themselves. That's why the director certainly had the pressure: you had to succeed. Unfortunately, the film was released in the era of covid-19, a very difficult time for cinema exhibitors. Since some productions see their theatrical releases postponed or even cancelled (Mulan). And this, despite the fact that some films are released or released in theaters. With all this, these available films, like Felicità, suffer. Still, the result is definitely worth the trip.

A trio of shock to carry the film

With a very low budget and a small team available, Bruno Merle chose to bring together a trio of actors to carry the entire film. Admittedly, over a period of 1h20 but still, it is a real feat, so good are they.

Indeed, in addition to the charismatic and rising star, Pio Marmaï (What binds us), soon to star in the French blockbuster How I became a superhero. We find to complete the couple, Camille Rutherford. Less known, this one is however not a small news in the field. For example, we were able to see her this year in #Jesuislà, worn by Alain Chabat. Finally, it is Rita Merle, daughter of Bruno, who plays their child, in what is his first role. And it's amazing. We understand why her father chose her, because her talent is undeniable. In addition, his role is really not in the background vis-à-vis his fictional parents. Undoubtedly, we will see her again. All three are then extremely convincing to embody this atypical family. We believe in it from beginning to end.

The trio of shock for Felicità

A very convincing family adventure

The story is this: Tim and Chloe, a little bohemian parents and big children of a little girl, have chosen to live their lives day by day. While it is the last day of summer, young Tommy finally wants to return to school normally this year. Only, Chloe mysteriously disappears and Tim, meanwhile, steals a car.

It is then a kind of mini Breton road-trip that begins for the little family, which we live in particular through the eyes of Tommy's character. A child's look that touches us and makes us laugh. A very pleasant cocktail in the end, and in the end we would ask for more. So quickly this adventure unfolded before our eyes. Also, the pace of the story is extremely well managed, and knows how to take its time when necessary, and vice versa. In short, it results, pure happiness, and it is a little nugget to see absolutely in the cinema.

Note that the trailer (visible below) does not say too much and will intrigue you. As well as play you on the rhythm of the famous Italian hit of the same name: Felicità.

To conclude, we strongly invite you to come and see this Felicità. Which could well be one of the best feel-good movie of the year. Yes really. And that is to say if we need it during this unprecedented and chaotic year. In addition, you will be able to support a filmmaker who deserves it and whom you will then want to see more often behind the camera. We assure you of that.
