It's now official! It is the American television presenter Jimmy Kimmel who will have the heavy task of hosting the next Oscars ceremony to be held on February 26 in Los Angeles.

It had already been a few weeks since rumors circulated about the identity of the next master of ceremonies for the Oscars 2017. And the name that came up most often was that of the excellent Kevin Hart. Full of talent, the 37-year-old comedian and comedian would have made an excellent presenter, there is no doubt about it! But it turns out that the choice of the Academy fell on another. It is therefore Jimmy Kimmel, the flagship presenter of the famous talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live! "on ABC which will host this new edition of the Oscars after its successful passage at the last edition of the Emmy Awards

We can see in the choice of the Academy the wish to offer viewers a new edition full of good humor and joy. A new edition that should mark a break with the previous one hosted by Chris Rock, who has been criticized for his repeated advocacy for more diversity in Hollywood cinema.

For Jimmy Kimmel, this appointment is in itself a consecration, even if he has been one of the most appreciated personalities in the American audiovisual landscape for a long time. Jimmy Fallon can bite his fingers again because, after missing the opportunity to host the Emmy Awards, is once again doubled by his long-time competitor for the Oscars! It is now up to him to ask himself the right questions…

The list of nominees for the 2017 Oscars will be announced on January 24, 2017. To discover the big evening, you will have to wait until February 26.
