SEGA unveils two new features for Sonic Mania: the "Blue Spheres" Bonus Stages and the Time Attack mode.
In Blue Spheres, the player takes control of Sonic, Tails or Knuckles in order to touch blue spheres to complete the level. But be careful, since once the blue sphere is touched, it will become red, in this case, it should not be touched, otherwise, you risk a premature return to the current level. If you manage to complete the level, you will be rewarded with silver medallions, if you finish the level with a perfect score (i.e. collect all the rings, activating all the blue spheres), then a gold medallion will be offered to you.
Time Attack is a brand new mode. If you like speed, this mode will be for you, since you will have an online ranking to know the fastest on the course.
In the Special Stages, announced at Comic-Con, you will have to pursue enemy UFOs to recover the precious Chaos Emeralds. You will gain speed by picking up the blue spheres on the course.
Sonic Mania will be available on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch starting August 15. The Standard and Limited Edition of the game are available for pre-order at this address.
