Four years after her last album entitled Kiss Me Once, singer Kylie Minogue is back with Dancing.

Pop for country

Call it what you will, trendy or fashionable, but country music predominates in the new musical facets of today's pop stars. It all started with Lady Gaga's album Joanne , to follow with Miley Cyrus' Malibu , much more posed and far from the provocation of We Can't Stop and Wrecking Ball. Meanwhile, Kesha made her comeback last year with Rainbow, including a sound far from electro-pop and again, close to country music.

Today's popstars, with huge hits on hand, may instead want to head for a more organic path, away from synthesizers and computer sounds. They all already have huge audiences, and now is the time to take risks. On Dancing , Kylie Minogue makes a perfect mix between her dance music, very present in her repertoire and country music. It is a ballad that reaches a real intensity to the chorus, animated by "oh oh oh". It was composed by Kylie Minogue and Amy Wadge, responsible for Ed Sheeran's hit Thinking Out Loud .

The Queen of Dance

Apart from the fact that Kylie Minogue approaches country music, she always wants it to remain danceable: "No one wants to stay at home, nobody wants to be alone […] When I go out, I wanna go out dancing" When I go out, I want to go dancing). In fact, this return to music coincides with the 30th anniversary of his first big hit on the charts, I Should Be So Lucky.

Dancing is an effective mix that stays at the end of the listening, very pop as a whole. This is a good presentation of the new musical stage of the singer but which is not up to her old hits. His new album Golden will be released on April 6, with 12 tracks in the classic edition and 16 in the deluxe version. With such a busy tracklist, Golden surely has bigger hits up his sleeve. In the meantime, let's listen to Dancing on repeat.
