Released at the beginning of the year thanks to crowdfunding, Somewhere In Between is the first album of Cloud Cuckoo Land, the other project of Guillaume Bernard, composer and guitarist of the group Klone that we love a lot.

There are artists who are on the move and that creativity itches at every meeting. Guillaume Bernard is one of them. If we are already largely convinced by his Klone project, we did not expect to fall completely in love with Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Find the story of Klone's acoustic concert

Another atmosphere, another universe…
We discovered the band Cloud Cuckoo Land at the beginning of the year, when Somewhere In Between, their first album, was released, financed thanks to an Ulule campaign.

At the origin of this new project, there is a meeting with Mélusine Fradet (actress and singer) and a desire: that of setting up an acoustic project with a woman's voice. By moving away from Klone, and introducing new organic, almost mystical elements, William takes us into another world.

From the first title Mélusine's voice calls us: "Wake Up! ". Waking up from a dream or reality to immerse ourselves in dreams? This is what we ask ourselves as a question during this introduction to the taste of mystery that sounds very Burtonesque. Between dark music box, guitar that sounds like a harp and sounds that come to haunt the background of the song. The tone is set!

With Behind The Older Master we penetrate the spirit of Cloud Cuckoo Land: a storytelling phrasing assumed, an almost lyrical voice that could be reminiscent of those of symphonic metal singers, a mix of beat between electro and acoustic, a clearly folk guitar that takes us into a whirlwind. We feel something from another time, a really particular way of composing, with a desire to immerse ourselves in a story.

And that voice… which sometimes seems ageless. Expressive, committed, breaking, soaring, falling back and twirling like an autumn leaf in full fall. The drums in the background melt us more and more to think of medieval folk … almost pagan.

Under My Skin plunges us back into the strange and bizarre. Almost gothic, it is part of the titles of the album that creates a kind of discomfort. Where a title like Come And Go, makes us think more of an atmosphere of faeries, both airy, volatile and tormented, always very dark.

Molpee's Song is a siren song, a distress song… Tears, lamentation! Once again there is a beautiful story to understand in the background.

The pagan folk side is confirmed with a title like Hope Is Gone and Down Of Time. We are not far from Faun. The latter is a magnificent walk that takes to the guts.We love this mix of acoustic guitar and electric keys that color Back To The Wall.

The album ends as singularly as the first track. A feeling of waking up or trying to doze off… We still do not know if we emerge from a dream or if we plunge into an enchanting world. It is in this "Somewhere In Between" that Guillaume and Mélusine leave us with a key: The Key to Feeling.

Very beautiful piece of music that, like a tale, transports us elsewhere but does not really let us come back. The end, a little suspended, invites us to extend this journey undertaken thanks to this dreamlike music.

Now we just have to discover how the charm works live !!

Lucky for us, a concert is planned for November 22 at Gibus during a very rich Unplugged Evening .

Indeed, it is not one but 4 concerts that you can attend: Cloud Cuckoo Land to introduce this evening under the sign of acoustic music; followed by Uncut which will sprinkle rough Stoner Blues; Then comes Kadinja who will review his repertoire to adapt to the constraint. Finally Klone will close this beautiful mass with a new acoustic set. On the program of this set, full of surprises, new titles and a tribute to the grunge scene 90 with some covers of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam.

Presales are already open!
