Saber Tooth's Twin Dragons!

Fairy Tail Side Stories

First of all, being a fan of the Fairy Tail series, I found it very nice to be able to immerse myself in the universe of the series through short stories! The principle of Fairy Tail – Side Stories is to focus on particular characters, characters sometimes left behind in the original series. It is very interesting to discover them in new adventures!

In the first volume, we have the pleasure of following Sting and Rog, the twin dragons of the Saber Tooth guild in two different stories. The stories themselves are not very detailed and unfold relatively quickly since they are composed of only one volume. However, the atmosphere and characters remain those of the original series, it is very easy to dive into the story and appreciate the content very quickly. In addition, the characters are very well drawn, which makes this first volume satisfying to read!

However, I find it a shame that in this spin-off, Sting is so highlighted and that therefore, Rog is put on the back foot while he plays an important role in the Fairy Tail series. So because of that, I find that the goal of this spin-off is only half achieved.

Road Knight!

Fairy Tail Side Stories

Let's now look at the second volume devoted this time to the character of Gajeel Redfox. Unlike the first volume, the story is more interesting and better brought which makes this second volume even more enjoyable than the first. This volume is also divided into two stories, the first allows us to discover a part of Gajeel's past that, until then, had not really been addressed in Hiro Mashima's series. The second story takes place after the dissolution of the guild and introduces us to a most amazing duo, Gajeel, who now works for the magic council and Cobra, the venomous dragon of Oracion Seis. This short story is very entertaining and allows the reader to immerse himself in the world of Fairy Tail with great ease.

In addition, in this second volume, Shibano Kyota's pencil stroke is still very close to Hiro Mashima's, which makes reading this second volume even better!

Fairy Tail Side Stories is a very pleasant spin-off to discover if you are a fan of the universe of Hiro Mashima or if you want to discover it through short stories!
