Synopsis: Mo is a man as handsome as he is charismatic. His taste for adrenaline led him to go underground shopping. When he meets Lila, a stuttering and shy girl, it is love at first sight. He then takes her under his wing, trying to hide a secret from her: he cannot read.
With subjects such as illiteracy or stuttering, Sara Forestier (César for Best Actress in 2011) takes us with her first realization in a tender work, where romance rubs shoulders with social discourse.
The exchange of princesses
Synopsis: 1721. Philippe d'Orléans, Regent of France, had an idea to establish lasting peace with Spain: an exchange of princesses.He married his daughter, Mlle de Montpensier, 12, to the heir to the throne of Spain. Louis XV, 11 years old and future King of France, must marry the Infanta of Spain, Anna Maria Victoria, who was then only 4 years old. But these decisions are not without consequences: the hasty entry of these young princesses into the politics of the time will overcome their carelessness …
With M, we had a contemporary social purpose. With The Exchange of Princesses, we discover a specific category of power games practiced under the Ancien Régime: arranged marriages. Enough to learn a little more about the rich history of France, but also about the functioning of politics at the time.
