If there's one writer who's on the rise these days, it's Stephen King. In 2017, the film It, adapted from the horror novel, became the biggest success of horror cinema. After this worldwide success, it is the novel The Tommyknockers that will be adapted by two great masters of horror, James Wan and Roy Lee according to The Hollywood Reporter. The first is director of the cult Conjuring and Saw, while the second is producer of It. A perfect trio, for this novel, adapted to the cinema for the first time.

    The Tommyknockers, future success?

In the midst of the Cold War, the novel published in 1987 follows the strange adventures of Maine residents, after the discovery of a spaceship. First buried, he triggers the dispersion of a toxic gas, which will have the effect of completely transforming these inhabitants into inhuman and particularly violent beings. Only one man, who is back in his hometown, is immune to this gas, seeing a metal plate grafted into his head following an accident. If the story may seem crazy, it has already been adapted on the small screen. Indeed, a mini-series has already been released on DVD in 2006. Just like it was, which was 27 years later the success we know.

Wan and Lee, but not only …

While the two directors are currently working on the script, the team will also have a well-known head of the project. Larry Sanitsky, executive producer of the 1993 TV movie, will also be there. The two directors have chosen to work through their production companies Vertigo and Atomic Monster.

A project already awaited, given the success that was Ça, which you can find the review here. The movie doesn't have a release date yet, so patience…
