Actor Harrison Ford embarks on a new adventure. After space wars and quests in cursed temples, Harrison Ford becomes a dog handler in the Yukon. He reprised the role of John Thornton in the new adaptation of The Call of the Forest

Harrison Ford is no stranger to major franchises and blockbusters. From Star Wars to Indiana Jones to Blade Runner, the actor has become a pop culture icon. For his next film, however, Harrison Ford abandons these whimsical worlds. He will play in the new film adaptation of Jack London's novel: Call of the Wild. The novel tells how Buck, a dog from California , became wild again after multiple adventures. Buck was sold as a sled dog in Alaska. He will have to learn to survive in the face of the brutality of the climate, other dogs and men. It will eventually return completely to the wild.

Jack London's novel will experience a breath of fresh air. Some adaptations of this literary classic have already been made: seven cinema or television films between 1908 and 1997, as well as a television series in 2000. For this new project, spectators can expect a proper dusting. 20th Century Fox studios are behind this adaptation. Harrison Ford is not the only big name attached to this film. Director Chris Sanders (The Croods, Dragons) and screenwriter Michael Green (Logan, American Gods) were both Oscar nominees. The producers also have a few blockbusters to their credit. Erwin Stoff (The Matrix) and Ryan Stafford (Planet of the Apes: Supremacy) work together. The film will be a mix of live action and computer-generated images. The production of The Call of the Forest will be based mainly on the special effects of Technoprops studios, bought by Fox last year.

Production of this film adaptation is expected to start in September 2018. Fox hopes to release the film in theaters on December 25, 2019.
