As Johnny said so well in the movie Dirty Dancing: you don't put Baby in a corner. As for Arabella Latham, better known by the stage name Baby Queen, it's the same.

We can not ignore her with her blonde hair to which she likes to make beautiful buns on which she often adorns herself with a colorful tiara with sequins. As well as his big sparkling blue eyes and his piercing gaze that seems to want to conquer the world. Not to mention this mouth with this mischievous smile that seems to say that from the top of her 25 years – age she has just turned and that she describes as – Baby Queen has already seen everything: "An age where we know that we have already matured well. A quarter of a lot and nothing at a time, where life and things get better over time. We still enjoy as much as before as at 16 years old but sometimes the body does not follow too much. Even though I know I wouldn't be 16 anymore, I wish I was 16. »

This "forever young" energy transpires in the work of this South African artist based in London. In her catchy songs as powerful as her personality, Baby Queen explores her life and often recounts with humor and self-mockery the events that marked her: "For me, writing sometimes can be so complicated but in the end everything always makes sense!». In the hit Wannabe, she continues the hurtful remarks and criticisms she took when she still dreamed of being an artist to reappropriate them and make something positive that puts her determination in the spotlight: "This song was so complicated to write but it's a perfectly well written song and we rarely compliment it. Sometimes I wonder where the recognition for Wannabe is so I am extremely happy when people talk to me about it, it means so much to me. It's a song that reminds us that if you believe in yourself everything is doable, you must always see straight ahead like horses. ». Unlike Wannabe, the sober ballad These Drugs where Bella reflects on her drug addiction, reveals it in another way: "When I started writing this song, I wrote it the same way I approach writing all my songs. But for the first time the question of going further arose and I asked myself what exactly I wanted to tell and how to do it. It was like finally breaking my shell, being vulnerable to myself and my fans. Writing is totally therapy! You can put so many complex emotions into words and discover more about yourself, what's behind it. »

The strength of her music lies in the fact that through her experiences Baby Queen manages to compose songs that are both an outlet for her but also for her audience. All this with full awareness: "People tend to act as if everything they are experiencing is unique and singular, when it is not. We are more similar than we think and what we experience others experience too. Today I can write a song and tomorrow a person who lives on the other side of the planet and has nothing to do with me can say "this song is for me, it's me!" because what I sing may have lived it in her own way. »

Lucid about the importance of the support given to her by her fans and her team, Baby Queen likes to include them entirely in her universe as what she likes to call the "Baby Kingdom". For her, her music belongs as much to her as to all the people who make up the Baby Kingdom because "without them, I would not be here. My work exists because they are there so my songs are also theirs, it's their songs! ». RES Jour 1 Baby Queen © Christophe Crénel 8 scaled Baby Queen: Meeting the Future of Alternative Pop

Passing through Paris for the great return of the Rock en Seine festival, Bella presses even more on the importance of her fans and especially on the joy that the French public brings her. Herself French through her paternal family, she has a true love for the country: "I love Paris, the French and France. What I love about the French public is that they shout so loudly and always sing all my songs! It makes me so happy when I play in France, I know that love is reciprocated. I don't speak too much French but I grew up with the French culture and my father prepared French food at home so there is always something special when I'm in France, it's like being at home. A love that the French public repays her well since she who does not like festivals so much seems more and more confident to show her rich and surprising universe.

It is on tour that the explosive Baby Queen to take his marks in front of his new daily life as an artist in full rise. With Olivia Rodrigo, who opened for her, she remembers being impressed by Olivia's handling of her life: "She's so young and already super professional. She takes care of herself and follows a strict routine. When it was time to sleep, Olivia went to sleep while I was still partying! I learned a lot from this tour, especially how difficult life in a tour bus can be. After the concert in Paris at the Zenith where I cried with emotions on stage, I fell ill for the concert in Amsterdam. It made me understand how much you have to preserve yourself and pay attention to yourself to be able to perform to make people happy. Despite all this, Bella is aware of the fact that the public is not necessarily aware of the realities of artists' lives. She who was a hardcore fan of Taylor Swift realized herself by following in the footsteps of her idol the difference between the imaginary and what it really is to be an artist. For her, this is why it is important to "always remember that artists are human and that they also have flaws, ups and downs or difficulties. That is why we must always remember that they deserve to be treated with leniency. »

With a new track recently released, Nobody Really Cares, and another highly anticipated (Lazy), Baby Queen continues to put at the center of his music the values that are important to him: to be oneself and to always be open to others.  She also promises us an album that will be released very soon and that will be very promising in terms of wealth after saying that she was "so happy to be able to exchange simply and that her day even brightened up". In any case, one thing is certain, remember the name of Baby Queen because she is already much more than a baby star.
