Alawar Premium today announced that its 3D Sci-Fi survival game, Distrust, is now available on Steam for PC. Inspired by John Carpenter's classic film 'The Thing', Distrust combines survival gameplay with an intriguing story and unexpected plot fallout.

In an abandoned science base in the remote Arctic, players must try to withstand the harsh climate by continuing supplies. The randomly generated environment filled with deadly abnormalities threatens your sanity, you will have to try to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of the crew of the base.

"After a rigorous testing phase, we are excited to finally launch Distrust on Steam. We believe horror fiction fans will enjoy the atmosphere of the game that reflects John Carpenter's 'The Thing,' which was the main inspiration for the story," said Artem Bochkarev, producer at Alawar. "In addition to a captivating narrative and exciting survival game, Distrust is packed with gameplay events, quests and plot tricks that make every attempt at survival different and terrifying."

A helicopter crash has left two survivors isolated and stranded near an abandoned Arctic science base. Playing as survivors, players switch each other to search the base for food and supplies while battling a terrifying force that attacks characters while they sleep, sucking life out of their bodies. However, if players choose to avoid the force by staying awake, they may be exhausted and paralyzed by mutations. Once a character's perception of reality has been altered, the player must move more often between the two to determine what is real and what is not, while also declaring the mystery of what happened to the missing residents of the base. Featuring a selection of 15 characters with unique styles and skills, various mutations, quests and randomly generated maps, Distrust is now available on Steam.
