Character created in 1987 in the novel A Horse in the Bathroom, Dirk Gently returned in a new series (after a first attempt between 2010 and 2012) on the BBC America channel, headed by Samuel Barnett and Elijah Wood.
Little nugget, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency deserves to be known. Inspired by the eponymous novels by Douglas Adams, it features a holistic private detective (holism is therefore defined globally by the thought that tends to explain a phenomenon as an indivisible whole, the simple sum of its parts not enough to define it) and his faithful assistant Todd Brotzman, all against a backdrop of puzzles to solve.

In the cast, Samuel Barnett (Penny Dreadful) in the role of the famous detective and Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings) in that of his assistant Todd. An offbeat humor for this co-production between BBC America and Netflix, which will be responsible for its international broadcast in December.
The good news of the day is that after eight episodes, the American channel has just ordered a new season! This second season will allow us to find these two endearing characters. Do not hesitate to let yourself be tempted, the series is worth a look!
