The sequel to Blade Runner is one of the most exciting projects in American studios. With a director like Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) at the helm, and a C of the calibre of Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, we can expect a landmark work of the seventh art. When we know in addition that Hampton Fancher (co-writer of the first part) worked withMichael Green on an idea of Fancher and Ridley Scott, it is difficult to see how things could go wrong.  Denis Villeneuve confided some time ago in an interview with Le Figaro:

"This film represents for me the biggest challenge of my life. I want to honour that privilege. I accepted because I know I can do it. I accepted because the script is very strong, and because I have the blessing of Ridley Scott."

Such enthusiasm for this real challenge from one of the most talented filmmakers today is bound to be a pleasure to see. The story of this sequel takes place a few decades after the first film. The director recently blurred the tracks on the relationship between his two main characters. Will Harrison Ford play the role of a mentor for the character played by Ryan Gosling or will their relationship be completely different? We learn today through Variety that Sony Pictures will distribute the film internationally. This is an excellent operation for the distributor who holds here a future success.Warnerbros, which released the original film in 1982, will distribute the film in North America.
