This January 22 saw the release of a new EP by American multi-instrumentalist Steven Wilson named 4 1/2.

The singer-guitarist of the Progressive Rock band Porcupine Tree, continues his journey as a solo artist and signs here an EP soberly named 4 1/2. With four previous albums, the addition of this "half-album" counts well 4 1/2 without Wilson's return to the Porcupine Tree box.

4 ½The EP is composed of six tracks with a total duration of 37 minutes. Five tracks come from the recording sessions of the albums "Hands. Cannot. Erase" and "The Raven That Refused To Sing". The last song Don't Hate Me is a version of the song of the same name by Porcupine Tree, accompanied by Ninet Tayeb on vocals.

    1. My Book of Regrets 2. Year of the Plague 3. Happiness III 4. Sunday Rain Sets In 5. Vermillioncore 6. Don't Hate Me

The EP can be considered a synthetic point of Steven Wilson's solo discography. We find his creative touch rocked by the great inspirations of bands like King Crimson or Pink Floyd, to whom he continues to pay tribute. Thus he mixes genres, linking Pop passages to others more Rock (see Heavy), which gives rise to a large number of very different and worked atmospheres.

An EP to discover with Wilson's entire discography!
