Good news for gamers of all stripes: the movie Uncharted is on track and has found its director. His name is Shawn Levy and he is not at his first attempt. Known for the trilogy " Night at the Museum " or for the very nice "Real Steel", Shawn Levy has also recently been noticed for his work on the series Stranger Things. So here is a director with a full and heterogeneous CV. It remains to be seen what personal he will bring to this emblematic saga of the video game.

    Shawn-Levy

Located halfway between Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider, the Uncharted saga (developed by Naughty Dog) was marked this year by the release of its 4th and perhaps last opus: Uncharted 4 – A Thief's End.Anchored in a very exotic universe, Uncharted makes us live the adventures of Nathan Drake, treasure hunter very talented, sympathetic and irreverent. Traveling from one end of the world to the other, he continues his quest for adventure in defiance of danger and always with class because let's face it: Drake has class!

Despite its slightly paranormal touches, the game is anchored in a fairly realistic universe. The project should therefore not require the most complicated adaptation work among the plethora of video games in film development. The project will be carried by Sony and takes the lead on the project of adaptation of the incredible The Last Of Us (also developed by Naughty Dog) still on standby, to the great despair of fans.

This project confirms that the union of video games and cinema still has a bright future ahead of it. Between recent releases like Hitman: Agent 47 and Warcraft: The Beginning, or the upcoming release of Assassin's Creed, here is a vein that is not about to run out. Let's hope that this adaptation will live up to the Playstation saga and that it will unlock the adaptation project of The Last of Us. All we have to do is arm ourselves with patience!
