The latest clip of the Chemical Brothers ("Wide Open" with Beck, a beautiful clip all in grace) reminds us how much the British DJ duo, whose last album dates from last July, is the bearer of the most talented videographers, who then devote themselves to their imagination in often very successful creations. Among these, some are signed Michel Gondry (and they are always delicious), but not only. Here is a top 8, for a concentrate of video-pop culture set to music by the 2 most respected electro brothers.

And the 8 best videos are…

    8. "Out of control" (from the album "Surrender" – 1999). Out of ControlWe start with rowdy, spectacular : in this clip directed by W.I.Z, we see a pretty Mexican Lara Croft type drinking a bottle of a Cola drink, before we realize that it is an advertisement broadcast on a TV. Which is then exploded by thugs and rioters who provoke urban guerrilla warfare and clashes with the police, in a very Doom-like style. Here you go. 7. "Go" (from the album "Born In The Echoes" – 2015). Chemical Brothers "Go"Michel Gondry, here you come! The latest delivery from the French director for the English. One of the most minimalist and "WTF?" that he did: on this very hip hop track sung by Q-Tip, we see 7 futuristic majorettes in elf caps doing a choré synchronized with the music, playing with an iron bar held by all from beginning to end. Choupinou… Original and simplistic, the same vein as in Daft Punk's "Around the World", made 18 years earlier. The Gondry paw is still making its own… 6. Star Guitar (from the album "Come With Us" – 2002) Star Guitar3 points in common with the previous video: Michel Gondry, Synchronized and "WTF!". Except that the theme has nothing to do with it: we see visible elements of a train at full speed in a montage taking care to make them appear exactly at the same time as the various audible elements of the song itself (rhythms, synth, voice …). A kind of VJ performance (for Video-Jay) in short. You didn't understand anything while reading? You will understand by looking, the technical result commands respect. 5. Setting Sun (from the album "Dig Your Own Hole" – 1997) That yearSetting Sun, electro-rock becomes great with this participation of Noel "Oasis" Gallagher and this emblematic clip of the Trainspotting generation, where we see through a teufeuse free-party atmospheres and a more or less marginal youth shaking on Big Beat sound. An atmosphere more watered down than that of the scandalous clip "Smack My Bitch Up" by Prodigy, released in the same waters, but still: shocking. 4.Where Do I Begin (from the album "Dig Your Own Hole" – 1997) Where Do I BeginThe video is not transcendental, but the song is so good that it is an opportunity to listen to it again. This psyche rhyme will be enough to make your head spin, believe me.   3. Do It Again (from the album "We are the night" – 2007) Chemical Brothers Do It AgainHere it's the opposite: not huge song but crispy clip. Shot in Morocco, it is reminiscent of Fatboy Slim's "Ya Mamma", where the concept is taken up. Listening to the sound of the Chemical Brothers, two kids frantically start making an " Elvis Shake" with their legs. The same goes for villagers, bus passengers or policemen on motorcycles who get in tune with "Do It Again": rock the casbah (in 120 bpm). 2.Hey Boy Hey Girl (from the album "Surrender" – 1999) Chemical Brothers Hey Boys Hey GirlsIf the very recent "Wide Open" shows a body in the form of a skeleton, it was also the case for this flagship title of the album " Surrender" which made the brothers of the real emperors of the electro sound across the Channel. We see a child who, as she grows up, obtains the ability to see people through an X-ray, so to see only skeletons. Who fuck, flirt drink and dance in clubs, but skeletons anyway. The creepy-fun clip of the selection. 1.The Chemical Brothers – Let Forever Be (from the album "Surrender" – 1999) ChemBrothersLetForeverBeLast but not least, impossible not to end this top with this fabulous clip of Michel Gondry. A kaleidoscopic sequence shot with stunning special effects, the dancer unleashed in her devastating chore, all with the dreamlike universe of Gondry (period "Be Kind, Rewind" and "Eternal Sunshine") in all its splendour. Enjoy!

And all in a nice youtube playlist of course!
