Season 9 of The Middle will be the last. As a gift for fans, it is extended by 2 episodes!
The Middle is one of those series that do not make much noise but yet has been counting good audiences for almost 9 years now. While the series will bow out in May 2018 at the end of its ninth season, currently being broadcast on the American channel ABC, fans have just had a nice surprise: the broadcaster has decided to add 2 additional episodes, bringing to 24 the last season of the Heck family.
The Middle, broadcast in France on NRJ12, invites us to follow the life of the Heck family. Frankie (Patricia Heaton), mother, Mike (Neil Flynn, brilliant Janitor in Scrubs), father, Axl (Charlie McDermott), eldest son, Sue (Eden Sher) the ungifted daughter of the family and finally Brick (Atticus Shaffer) the youngest son all live in the fictional small town of Orson, Indiana. Gaining great ratings since its debut in 2009, the series has 9 seasons. The final double episode is scheduled for next May on ABC.
The chain is also customary fact. In 2017, she had already granted additional episodes to other series such as Grey's Anatomy or American Housewife. It would have been surprising if the ninth season of The Middle didn't get them, considering all seasons of the show have 24 episodes.
