We announced the launch of Riverdale, Greg Berlanti's new series on the CW on Thursday, January 26, 2017. We know today that the actress Molly Ringwald, famous for her participation in several cult films in the 80s such as Breakfast Club, Candy Rose or Sixteen Candles for Sam, has indeed obtained the role of Mary Andrews, the time of two episodes.
She will be the mother of Archie (K.J. Apa) and Fred 's wife (played by Bevely Hills 90210 cult actor Luke Perry). Her role is described as that of a woman who left town two years ago to follow her dreams, who returns to Riverdale to be closer to her son, her husband and to reunite with her two friends, Hermione (Marisol Nichols – 24) and Alice (Mädchen Amick – Witches of East End).
The actress also appeared between 2008 and 2013 in the series The Secret Life of an Ordinary Teenager, in the role of Anne Juergens, the mother of the heroine played by Shailene Woodley.
Riverdale will debut on Thursday, January 26, 2017 on CW.
