Here is a selection of five DC stories that are easy to slip into a suitcase. The choice fell on complete stories, some old others recent, aimed at all audiences. Happy summer read in the world of superheroes!!
1. Flashpoint
With Flashpoint, you enter the universe of the cosmic and temporal event that has upset the DC chronology and whose repercussions are found in current series: JSA the New Age. The story is touching, the dilemmas terrible and the consequences devastating. A must that has benefited from a beautiful anime adaptation. 
2. Kingdom Come
Kingdom Come is not only an epic comic plunging us into parallel lands but a work of art carried by the drawing of Alex Ross. This cross-over is tasted as much for its words as for its images. An absolute masterpiece. 
3. Superman Red Son
This dystopia offers a dive into another land where the son of Krypton has washed up in Ukraine. The man of steel becomes "homo soviéticus" convinced of the justness of his cause. This comic explores the psyche of our superheroes while analyzing the notion of absolute power. A founding story that was entitled to an excellent animated adaptation. 
4. The Killing Joke
When Alan Moore looks at the origin of the Joker, it gives an anthology comic. Through a short story, the British author explores the roots of evil while offering a reflection on the artist and his doubts. A unique story that changed the perception of the Joker as shown in the movie Joker. 
5. The Court of Owls
Comics written by Scott Snyder, it is to this day one of the most essential to understand the torn soul of Gotham City and the Wayne family. The story propels the reader into a reinterpretation of the myth of Batman that has modified all subsequent stories including the excellent Batman White Knight.
