Nicky Larson (City Hunter in VO) is a television adaptation of the manga Hunter, broadcast in France in the 1990s (credits at the bottom of the page). It tells the story of a blundering but very effective detective, full of humor, gorge all the time, big child at heart and obsessed with girls. A new film adaptation is planned for 2019, directed by Philippe Lacheau, the latter playing the lead role.

New Challenge for Philippe Lacheau
Philippe Lacheau is known for directing Babysitting, Babysitting 2 and Alibi.com (respectively in 2014, 2015 and 2017) in which he also played the lead roles. This time he is working on a classic from manga: Nicky Larson. For this film, he will again be the director and the interpreter of the main role. "It's a kid's dream come true," Lacheau reportedly said. The latter is very excited about this project.

You don't change a winning team
For this film, Philippe Lacheau called on his long-time partner. This is of course the Tarek Boudali, (Babysitting, Babysitting 2, Alibi.com, Marry me my friend, En famille). Elodie Fontan (Clem, What did we do to the good god? Baby Sitting 2, Alibi.com) will also be part of a third collaboration with Philippe Lacheau (his companion) and Tarek Boudali. She will play the role of Laura Marconi, the one who spends her time hitting Nicky with a huge 100t mallet as soon as he makes a blunder. The rest of the cast is not yet revealed and the director remains discreet about the synopsis (see link below).

25 years after Jackie Chan who played him, Nicky Larson finds himself once again in the cinema. This film is currently receiving a mixed reception among fans. Some are already disappointed by the choice of actors, others on the other hand give him a chance and wait to see on February 06, 2019 what it will give.
