Three years after the very successful War Eternal, Arch Enemy announces its return for September 8 with a tenth album: Will to power.

Formed in 1995 by Michael Amott, Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band. Following the replacement of vocalist Angela Gossow by Alissa White-Gluz in 2014, the band currently includes Michael Amott on guitar, Sharlee D'Angelo on bass and Daniel Erlandsson on drums. For this new album, guitarist Nick Cordle is replaced by Jeff Loomis, former guitarist of the band Nevermore.

An inauguration clip

In order to present Will to power, the band released their first single: The world is yours.

We find in this title sounds very close to those we heard in War Eternal, but more evolved. The footprint of Arch Enemy is easily recognizable for our greatest pleasure. There is no doubt that the members of the group were able to take advantage of these three years to achieve a colossal work! However, we can feel a slight disappointment about the quality of writing of the lyrics, but which will hopefully be largely compensated by the other titles of the album.

A more epic album

According to guitarist and author Michael Amott, Will to Power aspires to be more epic than the previous one. It's a successful bet, at least with the first single written by Michael Amott with the help of Daniel Erlandsson, which presages the tone of the rest of the album. He said it: prepare to be surprised! As for the first creations with Jeff Loomis, we can only expect to be in a good way. A first novelty is to be noted when listening to The world is yours: the singer Alissa White-Gluz no longer uses only guttural singing, but also her clear voice, like what she did brilliantly in her previous group The Agonist. Although these are only a few whispers, it suggests nice surprises for the rest of the album!

An international tour

To complete this more than cheerful announcement, the group also informed about the preparation of the Will To Power 2017 International Tour. Locations and dates are available on their official website. The tour begins in July 2017 in Sweden and ends in October in Russia. Unfortunately for us, no date is scheduled in France.
