This anthology series, created by Steven Bochco (New York Police Blues) in 2014, recounted one investigation per season. The first focused on Terry English (Diggs) and Hildy Mulligan (Robertson), who are two investigators from the San Francisco Police Department's homicide unit. They investigate a murder that leads them to a young prodigy from Silicon Valley. After the discovery of a second body, they realize that the two cases could be linked. The series takes us step by step through the different stages of the case, until the verdict of the trial.

This first season had 10 episodes, while the second season had 12. Season 3, which ended in September in the United States, offered 10 episodes, bringing the total of the series to 32.

This announcement of cancellation comes the day after that of the French channel TF1, which will begin the broadcast of the first season every Wednesday from November 2, at a rather … late! It is indeed at 00:15 that you can discover in VF the investigations of the San Francisco police, two episodes per week, in the series renamed for the occasion First Murder !
