The story of The Devil All the Time
The film is based on the novel of the same name published by Donald Ray Pollock in 2011. The plot takes place at the beginning of the Vietnam War. In an interview with Entairtenment Weekly, Holland said, "I was really looking forward to working with Antonio because his previous films I've seen are very raw." He adds: "I guess it was the challenge to do a different accent, to play the country kid, a period film, a new director. Everything ticked the boxes for me." . Holland plays the character Arvin Russell. Faced with the death of both his parents, he will have to learn to live alone.
The filming location
The film was filmed in many locations in northern Alabama. "It was a tough shoot just because there were so many locations and we were really spread over so much of northern Alabama," the director says. "The good thing is that Alabama hasn't been filmed very often, so it's not as recognizable as other places that have been filmed and photographed thoroughly by various movies and TV shows."
