Director Adam McKay was particularly surprised. This is one of the most anticipated films of 2021! We suspect that Netflix will bet big on it. As you can see, this is Don't Look Up, Adam McKay's new satirical comedy.  We will have the chance to follow two clumsy astronomers who embark on a media world tour to warn the population of the imminent arrival of an asteroid. On the casting side, it is the Hollywood gratin with among others Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill or Cate Blanchett to name a few. And icing on the cake, we will find Leonardo DiCaprio in one of the leading roles. The actor, known for being selective in his career choices, surprised the writer-director, who did not expect to receive a positive response. On the occasion of the podcast Happy Sad Confused, Adam McKay launched:

"Obviously, I think DiCaprio is a talented and great man. I love his work on the problems facing humanity and climate catastrophe. I just thought there was no way he could make the film because if I could only work with Martin Scorsese, I would. I myself could be Martin Scorsese' s assistant on a set, so why would he work with me? "

Subsequently, the author explains that the star of the Titanic loved the script. After several months of discussion and a break imposed by quarantine, the actor agreed once filming was ready to begin. McKay insisted:

"I couldn't believe it. Unsurprisingly, he is fabulous in the film. He is so excellent. "

Indeed, the director was not mistaken. Following the end of filming, Leonardo DiCaprio joined the production of Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese's latest. The film is currently filming and is scheduled for Apple TV+ in 2022. On the side of Don't Look Up, no official release date has been revealed, but Netflix should release the film in November or December.Just in time for the Oscars.
