After a chaotic production, the blockbuster shot in 2017, Chaos Walking, will finally be released in theaters on February 3, 2021. Good news after a year weaned off big productions (apart from Tenet, New Mutants). The film plunges us into an original dystopia.  In order to carry out this ambitious project, the studio chose Doug Liman. A director who has been skilfully juggling film genres since the beginning of his career. It relies on a world-famous duo: Tom Holland, the interpreter of Spider-man, and Daisy Ridley, the one who was the star of the last Star Wars trilogy. The success of Tom Holland as one of Marvel's most popular superheroes, allows him to be the headliner of several important projects. In addition to Chaos Walking, he will also be Nathan Drake in the adaptation of the video game Uncharted. As for Daisy Ridley, she is one of the rising stars of cinema since her major role in the famous saga. It will be interesting to see her in a very different role. The rest of the cast is of the same ilk since we find as the big villain of the story, Madds Mikkelsen. For those who do not have the pleasure of knowing him, he was on the poster of Drunk before the start of the second lockdown.

Adaptation of the Chaos on the Move trilogy

Chaos Walking adapts Patrick Ness' successful trilogy. A dystopian tale that reminds us of movies like The Hunger Games or Divergent. In this world, there are no more women on earth. No, it's not an alternate version of Y The Last Man. A young woman crash-lands on earth. Because of the particular context, she is inevitably in great danger. A young man will have to do everything possible to protect her by revealing her inner strength.

The success of this film will depend on its ability to exploit the consequences of a woman's arrival in a world populated solely by men. The first test screenings were inconclusive, reshoots were made during the summer of 2019. The two actors having changed in 2 years, we hope that this will not affect the coherence of the work. In case of possible success of the film, will the two stars be able to have a schedule compatible with a second part? Doug Liman is an experienced filmmaker. This is not his first foray into the field of science fiction since he directed Edge of Tomorrow, an effective adaptation of a Japanese light novel.
