While he is still conspicuous by his absence on his son's birthday, the latter will express the wish that he no longer lies before blowing out his candles. A wish that will come true. Even if he assures his son that lying is an indispensable ally in the adult world, this change will allow him to realize that his way of being at work and in life was not the right one. What was initially unbearable will be of fundamental help to him to find himself with his son and his mother.

The film makes perfect use of Jim Carrey's comedic abilities. It is very difficult to see another actor take over this role of lawyer because he is tailor-made for him. It gives the actor the opportunity to bend to all kinds of fantasies with his face, legs and body. What's interesting about Carrey's acting is its cartoonish aspect that makes it completely different. We can sometimes, however, notice that his cabotinage stretches a little too much on certain scenes.
The strength of the film lies in its starting concept that makes each scene potentially comical. From situation comedy to everything that, most of the time, works very well. The film features the lawyer in different scenes where he lies and we know that the "truth" counterpart is necessarily going to be funny. However, we can regret a certain laziness in the writing of characters and rather big strings. Despite this, Liar Liar is a very good entertainment that fulfills its mission and will delight all Jim Carrey fans.
