Bright: the Netflix film murdered by critics will have the right to a sequel

Despite unconvinced or even murderous reviews, Netflix has just announced that Bright will indeed be entitled to a sequel!

A slew of negative reviews? Tsssss… Not even bad! Netflix intends to capitalize on Bright in the coming years, still with David Ayer directing. Yes, you are! David Ayer, remember? The director behind the infamous Suicide Squad (to whom we can not blame all the weaknesses of the film, as Warner Bros had done anything at the production level). If the announcement of this sequel may seem surprising at first, it is easy to understand this choice on the part of Netflix, which evoked this decision in a short video on Twitter.

After all, it seems that Bright is currently the most viewed film on the platform with 100 million subscribers. In addition, the film would have counted 11 million views in the first 3 days alone. Enough to put Netflix in confidence for the future. If we do not have a release date or even a title for now, we already know that Max Landis will not return to write this second opus. A fed up with this universe on the part of the screenwriter at the origin of Chronicle ? Not! Accusations of sexual assault that sideline him (even if some doubts remain as to the veracity of these accusations… To be continued). It is therefore David Ayer who, in addition to directing, will resume the writing of this new saga (apparently planned for 3 episodes). This should therefore allow for creative consistency, with writing and directing in the same hands. Will Smith and Joel Edgerton also return in this sequel? No confirmation at this time

It remains only to wait for the new information about this second episode of Bright. An act of courage or suicidal maneuver on the part of Netflix? Time will tell. After all, the negative reviews may not prevent viewers from being there for this sequel (they did not even prevent the success of the first opus). In the meantime, discover the editor's review published recently!
