We love an author, a film director, a theatre director for what he does, what he gives us and for a style, which we like to find in each of these works. A paw. This paw, Ronan Rivière is endowed with, and very well endowed even. Director, author, actor: endowed with multiple facets and a certain talent, he gives us the pleasure of presenting his last two plays. Thus, it is with undisguised pleasure that I went to see "Le roman de monsieur Molière" and "Le double", directed by himself, in which he plays the title roles.
First: "The novel of Monsieur Molière", by Mikhaël BULGAKOV. The theater that talks about theater. On stage, a large wooden cart, boat of Molière's multiple travels / wanderings. 2 actors who replay the whole life of Molière, from his birth, until his legendary death. It is beautiful, well played, well taken and very well accompanied by a pianist whose music subtly accompanies the subject.
Then, "The Double", after Dostoevsky. A rather unknown novel, adapted for the stage by Ronan Rivière: a rather Kafkaesque, tortured work. Some elements of scenery are reminiscent of Tim Burton: quirky windows, dark colors, transformations that follow those of the character, sinking into a madness that condemns him. The staging is ingenious, the actors formidable, and we also find the pianist with joy.
Ronan Rivière honors 2 great Russian authors and offers us 2 superb portraits.
I strongly advise you to run to discover these two stories. Through Molière's wooden cart or Monsieur Goliadkine's schizophrenia, you will be transported to the most beautiful journey: the theatre.
"Le roman de Monsieur Molière": at the Théâtre Le petit Louvre, at 2:40 pm, until July 29.
"The double", after Dostoevsky, at the 3 Suns Theater, at 19:00, until July 29.
