Nintendo's small handheld console returns to service on September 15. Presented during the Nintendo Treehouse show dedicated to E3, Medroid: Samus Returs surprised everyone. We discover that it is the prestigious independent studio MercurySteam that took care of this game on behalf of the Japanese giant. Metroid lovers can be delighted with this E3. Two new titles in the license make their debut with a new Metroid Prime for the Nintendo Switch that will arrive at an undetermined date. And those who prefer the original adventure will be delighted to discover Metroid: Samus Returns very soon. Nintendo says the collaboration with MercurySteam studio, known for its modern redesign of Castlevania, went very well. Samus Returns is based on the game GameBoy Metroid II: Return of Samus.
We are convinced that it is thanks to this collaboration with Mercury Steam that we have been able to combine various features as actions totally new so far in the Metroid series.An incredible recreation of the planet SR388 and the classic gameplay elements of Metroid into a uniform and powerful whole.
Some points brought on the novelties of this version revisited both on the graphics now in 3D and the innovations on the gameplay: the possibility of directing the canon of Samus in free angle, 360 °. A quick butt attack in case of charging enemies too close. Beacons to be applied to the map to avoid going back to the same place several times; Players who have known the game know very well what it is all about. Small special effects entirely in 3D which changes from the usual flat appearance. The arrival of the "bomb jump" equivalent to Quake's legendary rocket jump, to be used with caution.
