However, it is worth remembering that initially, the Japanese film production house TOHO, had bet on a cash flow of 6,000,000 yen. The result seems to be far beyond their expectations! And that's not all…

Kimi no na wa

At the national level, Kimi no na wa won two superb places in Japan's cinematographic history. Because with its sixth week at the top of the box office, it is hardly surprising to see Shinkai Makoto's latest pick up a few awards on his way.

Kimi no na wa ranks 5th among the biggest anime movie hits in Japan. A beautiful place that is far from being stolen. Also in Japan, the animated film ranks at the 6th place of the greatest successes of Japanese films. And on the international side, the latest of the CoMix Wave studios is not to be outdone since it takes the 15th place of the greatest successes of Japanese films abroad.

Only four animated films from Ghibli Studios have made more money than Kimi no na wa… And these are Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke), Gake no ue no Ponyo (Ponyo on the cliff), Howl no Ugoku Shiro (The Ambulan Castlet) and Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Chihiro's Journey). However, it was the first non-Ghibli film to achieve as many admissions and receipts. With 127 million inhabitants in Japan (2013 figures), we can consider that one person in twelve has seen Kimi no na wa, a great success that seems to make an entire country dream!

A novel that also breaks records

For those who have forgotten or missed this news at the end of August, here is news that should make you want! Kimi no na wa was published in Japan in manga version by the publishing house Kadokawa. Not to mention the publication of the novel entitled Kimi no na wa: Another Side Earthbound.

Novel that breaks sales records! In two consecutive weeks, Shinkai Makoto's original work sold approximately 112,000 books when it was released (June 2016). However, there are now nearly 446,000 sales, most certainly due to the release of the film. An extraordinary novel also since its paper predecessors, Byōsoku go Senchimetoru (5cm per second) and Kotonoha no Niwa (The Garden of Words), have sold respectively 14,000 and 12,000 copies.

Whether on the Billboard platform or on the famous ORICON chart, the Japanese rock band RADWIMPS is a hit. Responsible for the original soundtrack of Kimi no na wa, the band made about 39,000 sales. RADWIMPS, already known and recognized continues to be talked about! And to say that on October 13, 2015, they filled the air of the room of the Flèche d'Or in Paris!
