Actor Leonardo DiCaprio, soon to star in The Revenant, and nominated for an Oscar, recently said he wanted to play the role of Vladimir Putin, the current Russian president in cinema.
Interviewed as part of the promotion of his neo-western The Revenant in which he plays the leading role, the American actor has split a revelation for the least surprising. Martin Scorsese' s favorite actor has indeed claimed to be interested in playing the famous Russian president on the big screen:
"Vladimir Putin would be a very interesting character to play. I'll be happy to do that."
The actor had met the politician in 2010 as part of his foundation to discuss the protection of Siberian tigers, but the conversation would unfortunately not have deviated on the world of cinema:
"He and I then only talked about these beautiful animals, not politics."
Before such a project is formalized, remember that Leonardo DiCaprio will be on the poster of The Revenant on February 24, that he won a few days ago the Golden Globe for best actor and that he will participate in the 88th Academy Awards, nominated in the Best Actor category.
