The sustainable lightness of being is a comic book released in June 2018 in the collection Une case en moins, a new collection of Delcourt editions created by Davy Mourier, the author of La petite mort. For a start in the world of publishing, The sustainable lightness of being is a first time successful.

    Growing up: hard work

Written by Eléonore Costes, touching actress and creator of the Journal de Lolo, the book La soutenable légèreté de l'être tells the story of how Lolo lives the arrival of the thirties. Anguished by everything around her, Lolo eventually falls ill and has to be hospitalized. Her stay in the hospital is an opportunity for her to be confronted with her past, her future and the feelings that assail her, feelings elegantly highlighted by Karensac's fair and funny drawings. In doing so, Lolo discovers that the cause of her discomfort is mostly in her head and that the greatest enemy she must fight to heal and be happy is herself.

    Funny and endearing characters

In The Sustainable Lightness of Being, Eléonore Costes stages herself with her loved ones: her parents, her sister, her friends. All are extremely endearing from the beginning of the story because of their authenticity and the round and soft features that Karensac gave them. The reader quickly feels close to this particularly human family and … stressed, because Lolo is far from the only one to be anxious. The book is full of sensitivity and intelligently deals with questions that flourish in the minds of many people growing up, but that hit Lolo hard, paralyzing her and even hurting her physically: fear of tomorrow, loneliness, the unknown, loss.

    A beautiful testimony of hope

The sustainable lightness of being is a perfect therapy for all readers suffering from anxiety or psychosomatic pain (psychic disorders manifested by physical symptoms). It is by taking the time to seriously and deeply seek the cause of his evil and by being surrounded by a lot of love that Lolo succeeds brilliantly in his initiatory journey and can begin (almost) serenely his healing work. The Sustainable Lightness of Being, a comic strip inspired by the author's experience, offers a much deeper reflection than it gives the impression at first glance.

The sustainable lightness of being is a beautiful story populated by funny anecdotes on a more than serious theme and whose title was particularly well chosen!
