The feature film Cézanne et moi deals with the relationship between Paul Cézanne and Emile Zola, two very great French artists.

Fifteen years ago, Danièle Thompson, director of Le code a changer, Des gens qui s'embrassent, La bûche, Décalage jet, Fauteuils d'orchestre, screenwriter of La Grande vadrouille, discovered the bonds of friendship that united Paul Cézanne and Emile Zola.

It doesn't take more than that to decide to make a film about their beginnings, where they shared everything: their dreams of glory, their hopes, bohemian life and girls. Their respective arts will express and flourish to better nourish their friendship or to better serve the underlying enmities.

In the main roles, two "Guillaume" face each other. Guillaume Canet in that of Zola and Guillaume Gallienne in that of Cézanne. Three hours of makeup made them unrecognizable while their acting serves the purpose of the film.
